Thankful Tree Writing Craftivity

 9 pages.

The Thankful Tree is a nice alternative to the "I'm Thankful Turkeys" that are such a popular November writing activity.

With the tree, you're reviewing the four seasons and what students are thankful for in each one.

Run the tree-top writing prompt pages off on appropriate seasonal colors of construction paper.  i.e. orange for fall, pink for spring etc.

Students trace the beginning words of the sentences, and then complete them.  Remind children about proper spacing and end punctuation.  Encourage them to use plenty of descriptive adjectives to make their writing "come alive."

Students complete the last page of their booklet, by writing about the things that they are most thankful for, like family, friends etc.

cov thankful treeAdd some finishing touches by having students glue their photo in the hollow of the tree, and decorating the various tree tops, with seasonal stickers, drawings, or shapes cut with a paper punch.

Completed projects make an awesome "Thankful Forest" bulletin board.

This craftivity will be FREE for an entire year!  Woo hoo. After which time, it will be up-dated and included in Diane's Dollar Deals.

Besides the up=date, there's now a blank page for older students.
