Online Stopwatch has over a dozen timers for counting up and counting down, including the countdown timers shown here. Assign a task, set the timer to count down, and turn your attention back to your students. Even if you get caught up in an activity and don't notice the time passing, the online timer reminds you! Wonderful for Smart Boards.

I searched for a site that would print the word find in LOWERCASE letters. HATE that most of the free automatic word find creators were in all caps. That is NOT how we teach children to spell words, so why have them search for them that way! Simply type in your word list, how many letters per line height-width) then click create. I copy and paste into a word doc so I can diddle with it. Word finds are a wonderful way to review spelling. Having a child create their own puzzle also reinforces lessons and is great for a word-work option for Daily 5.

LOVE this site for when I'm trying to think of words that rhyme with a certain word.
You simply type in your word and it gives you an alphabetical list, first by one-syllable words and then by multi-syllable words.
