What Happens On Saturday, February 2nd?
Groundhog Day will soon be here. Can you believe how fast January has flown?
It's on a Saturday this year, so most teachers will be doing their Groundhog activities on Friday, or perhaps Monday, if they want to wait and know the outcome.
This was one of my Y5’s favorite units, so I have lots of goodies on the shopping cart for you. Click on the link to view the Groundhog offerings.
Since so many visitors have requested the pentagon, hexagon and octagon shapes, I’ve included them in all of the new shape books, and am in the process of adding those pages to the oldies.
I just finished revamping The Shape of My Shadow. It’s a complete re-do as I now have a dotted-trace-the-letter font!
I also have a MAC now and can do many more things in the Pages program. LOVE it!
I just wish I had time to re-do everything, as the quality is so much better, but I want to design at least 1-3 new things a day so those are on the back burner.
One thing you can do to incorporate the new shapes when they aren’t in the booklets, is to ask your students what shapes are missing, and have them design their own page(s).
The other thing I’m doing with the new easy readers is to have students circle the capital letters and write in the end punctuation.
I've also included two graphing extensions.
This is an easy and fun way to keep reviewing those Common Core State Standards.
It’s always a nice idea to read the booklets aloud, when everyone has completed them, so you can review concepts of print, pointing out spacing, reading from left to right and from the top down.

Thank you for visiting today. Feel free to PIN anything you think others will find worthwhile.
